LS Exec Hari Raya Celebration
Today was our Hari Raya celebration! It was an amazing, thrilling, and communal event that really allowed us to thrive in that solidarity spirit. My job today was MC'ing and helping out other services with a range of issues. On the side, there were still remaining services' Kampung Spirit donations to load onto buses.
The entirety of this session was determined preparation for the Hari Raya celebration happening in two days. We cut paper and stuck them up to design boxes for the event and also delivered the donations to the buses which would take it back to their respective care centers.
This session, we started off by going on our usual rounds and informing and briefing other chairs on the Hari Raya Tea party that would be happening on the 26th. Afterwards, we went back to Conference Room 3 and continued working on packaging the Kampung Spirit Drive donations. Specifically, the ones from high school.
This session, we began our planning for the Hari Raya Tea celebration, which is going to happen on the 26th of March. Additionally, we went on our normal rounds checking up on Chairs and ensuring that the new Grade 9 and 10s were settling well in their service.
Today was all of the service's first session back, and so today my main role was to go around in our usual rounds and ensure that everything was up to speed since it had been a while. After that, we went back and worked on processing the Chair Training feedback we received a time back.
Today, all other services didn't have a session, but we had a bit of extra work to do. This involved folding and taping a bunch of boxes for the Kampung Spirit drive that will commence next week
Today was our chair training session! It involved outlining the year ahead for all the new Chairs and how they should approach leading a local service. This involved working on last year's feedback, sharing ideas, and more!
This session, we worked on editing our clips and finishing the highlights video that we are going to display during the training session, and then we went on our usual rounds, checking on each service and ensuring that they were completing their SWOT analysis.
As I went on my rounds today, I mainly focused on updating and ensuring each service knew what to do in their next service session. The next session involves each leader completing their SWOT analysis with their respective staff partner - something the leaders had to be up to date on how to do. Additionally, we finished filming our clips for the upcoming Chair Training Session.
This week, we worked on doing our usual rounds and filming the visual clips for the positive highlights videos that we plan to present in our chair training session in February.
This week, we started off by quickly going on our rounds and noting some feedback. We also met and spoke to the new leaders of the Cooking and Baking service. Finally, we spent the last 30 minutes of the session planning the Chair Training Session and work we have to do for that in February
This session, we went on our default rounds and made sure each group were making progress and discussed which groups may need a planning session.
This week was pretty much routine work. We started off by going on rounds to each service and following up with some questions and improvements that we had tried to implement last week. Finally, I took some notes on the services' progress and listed some questions for the next week.
In today's session went on our regular rounds collecting and giving feedback on how the sessions could be improved on as a whole. For a specific service there was some internal contention based on decision making between the leadership team - a lot of our service session was focused on pacifying this disagreement and working on solutions to conflict.
Today, we went on our individual rounds of checking up with our respective services. We focused on checking partner engagement levels, organisation and making sure that each service was working on their feedback from last week.
In today's sessions we started off with checking all the documents of services. This involved checking which services needed their activity plans updated and making sure that their goals and planning was intentional in the sense that they were trying to achieve something tangible with the partners each session. Afterwards, we visited the necessary services and had conversations about what they were doing well, what they could improve on and change in their system
